In early December, I was playing fetch at the park (and doing very well) until one bad move left me with many shattered teeth. But I didn't mind. They are just teeth after all, and I'm pretty tough. Well, the people took me to visit The Butcher. After the first visit I thought things would be okay. I was being tricked into taking a variety of poisons, but as I mentioned, I am tough. I was able to keep my wits about me despite this slow poisoning. But then one morning I was dropped off at The Butcher's. I was drugged with very powerful poison that caused me to fall unconscious. I then was beaten, and had the remainder of five of my teeth sawed out of my jaw. This was followed by being sent to a dog boot camp over the Christmas holidays, more poison, and more visits to that horrible man.

Honestly. These people should get jobs and leave me alone to self heal.

The humilation and torture have been unbearable, but things seem to be returning to normal now. I have even heard the female saying that she has returned to her job and she is expecting a paycheck. Maybe now she will be too busy to arrange elaborate tortures.

I sure hope things are beter in 2007!

Summer Time Fun

We have had a busy summer so far. After being abandoned for a week in May while the humanoids checked out Cuba we have had many happy pack adventures. At the end of May we spent an active weekend with Kim and Rob who visited Calgary for a few days. We like them. They liked to play fetch and give us treats. Then I (Dingo, Maggie still can't type) went on a road trip to Vancouver with the humans as they were going to some sort of "wedding". I was babysat by my grand-paw-ma Carole. She was real nice to me. The trip was extra exciting as I got to meet a baby Blue Heeler (what a lot I have to teach that pup, but I did get a chance to mark her so everyone will know she's mine), and Kirby. These are dogs belonging to friends of the humans, Marcus and Kristina. We had a great day at Spanish Banks, the Ocean is very tasty. Just this weekend I had a chance to visit my baby Blue Heeler again as well as Kirby. They travelled to Calgary this time for a short but fun visit. Now I need to rest, training puppies is alot of work!

Check out some photos of our summer so far.

Too Cold!

It's horrible outside. For the Thanksgiving weekend we travelled with our cousin Diesel (Newfoundland girl dog), and pack members Craig, Jennifer, Peter and Tanis. We all travelled in a large white "Diesel" powered carrying case with lots of room for everyone. We think its very impressive that Diesel can power these vehicles. She's just one dog afterall. No wonder she seems so tired when we travel. Back on track, the humans required two lap tops and several GPS systems, but we eventually arrived at our destination without incident. We stayed at the Grand Paws den. It was lots of fun even without a yard becasue we got to run in the woods and look for moose, but we did not find any!

We hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving with lots of frozen turkey necks.

Dingo remembers summer

In response to increasing demands for my image I have provided you with a peek at me bathing in muddy waters. Obviously, this picture was taken before the snow fell. In July, to be exact, during my trip to visit the Grand Paws in Prince George. After that I travelled with Jennifer to visit her friends Kim and Kelly in Vernon. They were most hospitable, and I once again had anopportunity to swim. As winter is here my water antics will be of the frozen variety (almost as much fun). Hopefully we can get lots of good shots of me in the snow to please my public! I understand this is all old news. But the pack leadership is very lazy at transferring my image from the "camera" to the "computer", I believe they may be trying to limit my communication with all of you. The Alpha female has relocated to a nearby humanoid vet hospital. This means not only a small pay hike (more meat), but also a change in daycare for Dingo. Dingo is settling in nicely to his Petcetera playspace, but he sure misses his old pals. The Alpha male will also be returning to Calgary on September 16th to pursue employment in Calgary. Thus he will return to full pack membership status. We are encouraged by these realignments as it will certainly improve our happiness.

The photo is from a mission the pack embarked on in May 2005. The plan was to gather the missing Alpha male and herd him from Fort McMurray to Calgary. We were not successful on that attempt, but we are pleased nobody will have to make that trek again.

Introducing Dingo

Hello, are you out there? This is Dingo. I am 2 1/2 years old, and I joined this pack through some rather crafty manipulation when I was 5 months. A bad man was going to shoot me, but a good man took me to a store to pick out some human pack members. I chose two humans named Craig and Jennifer. I quickly identified them as gullible as they quickly responded to a simple head tilt. They have been putty in my paws ever since. I quickly learned to escape from crates and destroy furniture. This ensured that I spend my days at school playing with puppy friends and studying human behavior while my sister Maggie has to stay at home with THE CAT! I enjoy reading novels (Sci Fi), playing with other canines, agility, flyball and tracking. I could easily compete at agility and flyball, but my handler's skill level leaves something to be desired. But she does somehow manage to bring home a good kill each day. I will write more later, my paw is stiff.

Introducing Maggie

I am Princess Maggie. I am 6 1/2 years old but I have only lived with my current pack for 3 years. I was rescued from the Caglary Humane Society. Mostly, I am a very good dog. I like to chase balls, play agility, run flyball, and tracking. I do not like to go camping. There is no reason to live in a dirt house without fluffy beds when you have a proper house with fluffy beds. This is not a vacation. All car rides should promptly and directley lead to parks. When I am angry I like to quietly tear small holes in soft blankets. When I am excited, nervous, scared, sad or happy I quiver all over. Please never try to make me swim or give me a bath. Somtimes I swim by accident becasue I am chasing a ball and I forget I don't like water. I would prefer if the balls I am sent to retrieve could remain on dry land.

Woof

Well, this is our first crack at blogging. All the dogs at the park are talking about it. I guess its a useful way to reach out to the humanoids. It is generally fairly easy to trick them into attending to our needs, this is just another tool. We will use it to display our seductive cuteness. Clearly this will be met with a strong response of care and affection in the form of raw steak. Now, how do we get our cuteness on the screen...... ahhhh..there it is. This is our better side.
